NLA: Connecting Chairs

Tom Alexander, Director at Aukett Swanke, was delighted to be able to meet all the other New London Architecture (NLA) Expert Panel Chairs recently to initiate a really well informed debate and to explore a range of strategies for London’s sustainable future.

Issues discussed at the meeting ranged from the challenges that Covid brought to streets, public spaces, offices, schools, and high streets; to decarbonising the existing building stock, and unlocking barriers around the technical delivery of modern methods of construction.

Tom is chair of the NLA Expert Panel on Industrial & Logistics and Co Location.

New London Architecture (NLA) is the world’s leading centre for excellence for the built environment, whose purpose is to improve the quality of people’s lives by making London a better place to live, work and visit.
NLA’s research themes examine the key opportunities and challenges facing London. Research, exhibitions, events and publications are produced year-round, to share knowledge and debate these themes.
