The economical plan form of the office space employs an unusual split central core and an atrium spanned by a glass walkway which provides light into the deep plan offices.
Residential accommodation is placed in the adjacent Edwardian building, returning it to its original use, with affordable use in an extended building on Great Titchfield Street.
The planning approval involved extensive consultation with Westminster City Council and resulted in a contemporary office within a Conservation Area.
The new office building has a stone, glass and aluminium facade and accommodates a large, flexible office floorplate capable of four tenancies per floor within the tight confines presented by the site.
A wrap around roof terrace on the upper floor provides an attractive working environment for tenants.
Displacement ventilation, along with the high performance façade with a carefully calibrated solid to void relationship, offers significant energy savings over a conventional solution.
“What a fantastic impression the building made on me. Well done!! The quality really shines through. Light levels are great and the building has that all elusive ‘wow’ factor”
