Collective Team
The scheme regenerates a vital brownfield site within Birmingham’s Eastside providing key frontage to Birmingham City Council’s outstanding City Park.
Utilising the City Park as its front door, the scheme integrates Listed structures and draws on the distinct on-site ‘canalside’ environment, providing over 1.2million square feet of development including prime office solutions, city centre residential, retail and community buildings, including new buildings for Birmingham City University (BCU).
Masterplanning keypoints were the fast-track, participatory ‘vision’ workshops with key stakeholders; 3D walkthrough ‘spatial’ masterplanning from the start, and a Sustainability Development Framework with associated KPI.
Initial phases have already been completed, including our Joseph Priestley Building for BCU. We are currently working on the STEAMhouse project for BCU, a new facility incorporating the historic and locally Listed Belmont Works, which will incorporate both BCU STEM faculty and entrepreneur business start ups.
