Approval in Wimbledon
Our proposals for St George’s House East in Wimbledon have been approved by London Borough of Merton. We are really looking forward to seeing this project develop with M&G Real Estate to deliver new highly sustainable Grade A office space as part of LB Merton’s wider Future Wimbledon Vision.
St George’s House East is a 300,000sqft gross flagship office development designed by Aukett Swanke for M&G Real Estate working with Bell Hammer to deliver BREEAM Excellent Grade A office space and retail at ground floor opposite Wimbledon Station, set within an improved public realm environment.
The project was won by Aukett Swanke through a competitive process that led to the commission by M&G Real Estate to develop proposals for a new headquarters office above retail that builds on the site’s prominent gateway position and Council’s emerging plans for Wimbledon. Through a highly collaborative process the proposals were developed to planning submission through 2021 and with the London Borough of Merton’s planning team to create one of the first phases in delivering their wider Future Wimbledon Vision.
The building will provide 190,000sqft of office space, including affordable workspace, 14,700sqft retail space and over 300 cycle parking spaces. It will be BREEAM Excellent with Zero Operation Emissions by 2030 and 195% net biodiversity gain.
