Aukett Swanke + Ardmore – Design District Tour

On Friday 8th October a group of us from the studio went on a Study Tour to the new and emerging Design District on Greenwich Peninsula as guests of the main contractor Ardmore.

The tour was led by our friend and ex-colleague Jack Bird, Ardmore’s project leader, who took us through the design and construction journey each practice had gone through to create this unique cluster of built ideas and innovative approaches. There was a healthy freshness to some of the exploratory designs by Architecture 00 and Selgas Cano, balanced by some calmly exquisite material and detail compositions from Mole Architects.

A great evening of investigation and discussion fed by a few refreshments. Thanks Jack!
